Support for Common Core among Tennessee teachers has waned so much since last year that a majority now opposes the academic standards, a new statewide survey shows.

With the future of Common Core under fire in Tennessee, a new report from the Tennessee Consortium on Research, Evaluation and Development could provide more ammunition to those who want to roll back the standards.

The new 2014 survey, undertaken by a group led by Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College of Education and Human Development and released Wednesday, found that just 39 percent of respondents believe that teaching to the standards will improve student learning — compared with 60 percent who said the same last year.

Things that stand out to me ...
I am breaking down the crux of this article into bullet points taken from the article...the bullet points are just simple facts from the Vanderbilt study and then I list bullet points taken from the article that common core supporters don't want people to deduce from the results of the study...which by the way would require "the willing suspension of disbelief" (thank you Hillary Clinton for that phrase)....

• 56 percent of the 27,000 Tennessee teachers who responded to the survey want to abandon the standards
  
• 13 percent would prefer to delay their implementation
  
• Only 31 percent want to proceed
  
• Some 10,000 teachers responded to both the 2013 and 2014 surveys. Among this group, 27 percent went from a positive to negative view on the effect of Common Core standards on student learning.
  

Now...on to what you shouldn't read into about this study...

• The one thing I would caution people against is jumping to the conclusion that this means now that teachers are actually trying it, they’re discovering that it doesn’t work (Ummmm that's the natural assumption any critical thinking person would come to)
  
• The report rejects any suggestion that the opposition to Common Core is primarily the result of teachers’ disappointment when it has been tried in the classroom (Hahahaha stop it! just stop it...you can reject anything you want...it's called DENIAL...it ain't just a river in Egypt)
  

You know ...just to clarify that last point which is a tough pill to swallow for anyone having common sense....Despite the fact that "Common Core has phased into classrooms in Tennessee for the past three years" 

• The report rejects any suggestion that the opposition to Common Core is primarily the result of teachers’ disappointment when it has been tried in the classroom. (HAHAHAHA yeah K O DAT Kemo Sabe (Ummmm here is where you need "the willing suspension of disbelief") if a report rejects a sound notion reflected in a reputable study, is it lying when no one is there to call out "the willing suspension of disbelief?) For you boys and girls not edumacated in that there common core...the answer is yes)
  

Also in the article was this gem...

• He also noted that teachers who have been through Common Core training are more likely to feel better about it, according to the same survey. (Translation: teachers who have been brainwashed into thinking common core is the be all that ends all are likely to believe what they have been trained to believe...who'd a thunk it?)

It's abundantly clear that the more the public learns about Common Core, the less they like it. Teachers who are on the frontlines teaching our children common core like it less as the physical implementation gets even farther...Who you going to believe? Me or your lyin teachers who are actually in the trenches with this garbage....
