Republican-Controlled House Schedules Vote on Gun Control Measure For Next Week

The House will vote on a counter-terrorism package that will include a provision to prevent suspected terrorists from buying guns, Speaker Paul D. Ryan, R-Wis., told Republicans on a conference call Thursday, according to a source on the call.

The House, when it returns next week from its July 4 recess, will also vote on a mental health bill , sponsored by Pennsylvania Republican Rep. Tim Murphy, Ryan told his House colleagues.

On the call, Ryan said it common sense that suspects on terror watch lists not be able to buy guns, but he wants to be sure that any provision protects due process for people who may mistakenly be added to such lists. 

Now in theory, there's absolutely nothing wrong with a bill that blocks suspected terrorists from buying guns -- so long as there are strong due process safeguards, and that people have the right to challenge the finding and have a lawyer paid for by the state. (You shouldn't go bankrupt trying to get your name off a list you were added to with no due process standards, other than a bureaucrat's say-so.)

But of course the Democrats would never agree to any true safeguards -- their strategy is to always demand more than Republicans will/can give. It is a key election strategy that they not have any law the Republicans buy into. they want the election issue.

Oh what could go wrong.  A high risk al-qaeda terrorist, appropriately named “Jihad”, who was so dangerous even Qatar wouldn’t take him, was released by President Obama in December of 2014 to the country of Uruguay.  He was last spotted attempting to cross into Brazil, now they can’t find him.   Perhaps he’s just in Rio for the decapathon.

The Islamic terrorist’s name is Jihad Ahmad Diyab an in late 2014 President Obama sent him to Uruguay along with five fellow Gitmo inmates as part of a misguided plan to shut down the U.S. military prison at the Naval base in southeast Cuba.

Turkish newspaper Hurriyet is reporting that two explosions have occurred at Istanbul’s Atatürk Airport. The mayor of Istanbul has confirmed 28 deaths and 50 injuries.
Update 6:25PM EST: Authorities are now placing the death toll at closer to 50, according to the Associated Press. The AP also notes that senior Turkish officials are leaning toward the Islamic State as the possible culprits of the attack.

Up to 50 dead, 106 injured as three suicide bombers attack Istanbul airport firing AK-47s as CCTV shows terrorist triggering vest seconds after hero policeman escapes

Three suicide bombers have killed up to 50 people and wounded more than 100 in a 'major, co-ordinated' attack at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport, opening fire with AK-47s and sparking a shoot-out with security personnel before blowing themselves up.

Eyewitnesses have told how a hero policeman wrestled a suicide bomber to the ground just seconds before he detonated his explosives at the entrance to the airport's international arrivals terminal. 

It is believed the gunmen were trying to pass through the security x-ray machines at the entrance to the airport, the third busiest in Europe, when they were stopped by security officers and carried out their lethal attack.

The MSM claims there was nothing new released in the Benghazi Report...They lie but whatever...that is the 4th estate these days. The following NEW point released was most interesting to me and recognizes the truth of this old cliche ...better the devil you know than the devil you don't.

NBC News runs through several horrifying conclusions from the report, including the astounding revelation that Obama and Clinton did not know who their Libyan allies on the ground were:

The Republican majority’s report found that 35 Americans were saved not by a “quasi-governmental militia” as previous reports concluded, or even a group the U.S. saw as allies. Instead, the report determines that the Americans were saved by the “Libyan Military Intelligence,” a group composed of military officers under the Moammar Khaddafy regime, the Libyan dictator who the U.S. helped topple just one year earlier.

The February 17 Martyr Brigade, “recommended by the Libyan Government and contractually obligated to provide security to the Mission Compound,” had fled, the report found. “In other words, some of the very individuals the United States helped remove from power during the Libyan revolution were the only Libyans that came to the assistance of the United States on the night of the Benghazi attacks,” the report states.

Obama and Clinton’s allies reportedly fled the scene, leaving the late Moammar Qaddafi’s forces to save American lives.

Update: The repackaged threat was published Tuesday, and makes clear that U.S. Attorney Wendy Olsen is trying to intimidate the Idaho public from debating the problems caused by Obama’s decision to import huge numbers of foreigners — and their aggressive cultures — into Americans’ quiet neighborhoods.

“The [first] statement was not intended to and does not threaten to arrest or prosecute anyone for First Amendment protected speech … [but] certain threatening or harassing communications may violate federal law and will be investigated,” she insisted in her new Tuesday, June 28 statement.

The federal threat of prosecutions comes as many people in Twin Falls protest Obama’s migrant policy, which has brought many migrants into the state for jobs, including new jobs at a large Chobani yogurt factory. The protest spike followed the June 2 sexual assault by three migrant children on one American child. (Chobani Yogurt you say? Hmmmm have to switch my yogurt purchases to Oiko until let down by them too....)

Frequent readers of this blog know that I harp on citizens getting involved locally because that's where their power is. The disconnect on the federal level is just as deep on the local level though with one big difference. Citizens actually have the power to change things locally. If you watch the video below you will see average citizens speaking their grievances to a less than caring council but...this outcry went viral on social media and now there are 2 boys in custody.

Simply by utilizing the access you have available, that changed the outcome here. The politics happening in your community are perhaps even more important than the federal level which will be the last area of politics to be changed.

The citizens in that video lack some things they are going to need if they want to save their community. This is not a shot, it is constructive criticism. I was once where they were. Speaking out at the council/commission about a heated issue I wanted to stop. I realized after winning the 1st issue we took on that there was a bigger picture going on. Citizens need to be at these meetings on a regular basis and they need to learn the tricks of the trade in order to start making our government work right again. It's not going to work right on it's own and citizens are the missing link.

I encourage everyone to watch this video and see the condescension dripping from their lips. This is how you will be treated and you can either fret about it, get angry about it, or soldier on past it and crush that petty circumstance like The Donald scorned. 

Imagine a carefully planned strategy by these citizens where the speeches are honed, given by the best speakers in the group, research done on the elected officials (who are their biggest donors? Info that is public and often revealing), and a diverse group of citizens (It's not just the white race that doesn't like having their daughters raped), etc. I'm not saying that this group wasn't successful...they were but it was happenstance. And it went viral. That's not going to happen every time and you need to plan for that.

If citizens want to change the direction of their country and stop being railroaded by their elected officials, you have to start going on the offense and acting like a soldier of war....because unbeknownst to our elected officials...we are at war and the rape of this little girl is proof.

It's going to get worse before it gets better...so start now learning the tricks of the trade. Your daughters are depending on it...

Police are investigating a reported sexual assault of a 5 year-old girl near the Fawnbrook Apartments in Twin Falls, Idaho earlier this month.

Residents said a young girl was raped by Muslim youths at the complex. The assault was reportedly filmed by the youths.

The story made national headlines on mostly conservative websites.

Community members attended the City Council meeting on Monday night and lashed out at the city council for hiding the brutal assault.

Several council members lashed out at citizens who voiced their concerns at the weekly meeting.

Udo's task was to spend time one-on-one with Halil, teaching him about Germany, helping him with bureaucratic stuff, and generally hanging out. Udo went to restaurants and the movies with Halil, helped him with German, and talked to him for hours about his legal case and his background.

In the video, starting at abour 12:00, Udo describes the experiences with Halil that left him fully disillusioned and led him to stop volunteer work. Here's my summary of the main points in English. 

• Halil was first registered as a refugee in Italy, and was supposed to be deported back there under existing EU law. Halil hired a lawyer, who won the case and got him a permit to stay in Germany. He then sent Halil a bill for €600. Halil was "outraged" that he was expected to pay for the lawyers' services, because after all, he had won the case.
• When Udo told Halil that he, Udo, was an atheist, Halil was stunned, and his reaction was somewhat menacing. He said of course there was only one God, Allah, and everyone should believe in him. Halil thought it was a miracle Udo was "still alive" because God would not protect atheists. Halil drinks and smokes.
• Halil said he believes nobody in Germany has to work, they get free money from the government. He said this is a common belief in Syria, and that is why many people are coming. When Udo explained this is not the case, Halil refused to believe him. Udo found it remarkable that in the age of the Internet, Halili had never bothered to try to find out whether this bizarre rumor was true or not.
• Back in Syria, Halil was was the 'ass' of the family, his father bossed him around and forced him to run errands. They sent him to get the free money in Germany because he didn't seem to have much of a promising life ahead of him. When asked directly by Udo, Halil said his family had no problems in Syria, and that they were not going to try to follow him because "they're doing OK" there.
• Halil claimed that he had studied, computer science. Udo was thrilled to hear this, and said "That's great news! Germany needs people like you, with skills. You could have a great future here." But when Udo, who studies computer science himself, actually questioned Halil, it turned out he was completely ignorant on the subject. Either standards in Syria are incredibly low, Udo decided, or Halil had simply told him a bare-faced lie ("knallhart gelogen"). Udo tends to think the latter.
• Halil said there was drug dealing in the migrant shelter every night. Nobody has ever been arrested for it, and Halil assumed it was either not against the law, or tolerated. When Udo told him it was against the law, Halil became frightened of being arrested. The migrant shelter is right next to a middle school. Udo said it made him angry to learn that there was an active drug market in the migrant shelter right next to a middle school, and that the police were had done nothing. Udo thought the "rumors" about migrant selling drugs were "right-wing propaganda", but no longer believes this.
• The straw that broke the camel's back, according to Udo, was when Halil reacted with rage to an official letter saying that he should begin looking for an apartment, which would be funded by the state, but that he should limit himself to under 50 square meters (538 square feet). He protested: "How can I live in a place that small?" Udo, being a student, lives in a 23-square-meter apartment, and must pay for it himself. Udo said he fould Halil's demanding attitude so frustrating that he called up the volunteer service and withdrew from the program.

It's worth looking at the voting split in the UK's EU referendum based on polls compiled by Lord Ashcroft to get an idea of the disenfranchisement. In terms of socio-economic groups, 57% of ABs (upper/middle class - professional/managers etc) voted remain, 49% of C1s (lower middle class - supervisory/clerical or junior management/administrative), 36% of C2s (skilled working class) and 36% of DEs (Ds - semi & unskilled manual workers. Es - casual/lowest grade worker or state pensioner). So there's no escaping the fact that this is a class war. Whether its globalisation, immigration, inequality, poor economic growth or a combination of all of them it's quite clear from this and other anti-establishment movements that the status quo can't last in a democracy. Eventually you'll have a reaction. This is one such major reaction and given that the UK growth rate has been ok of late, it would be strange if pressure didn't continue to build elsewhere where growth has been lower for longer.
