I'm not usually a fan of all the accolades and awards that allow our elected officials show off and impress the people with their compassion and speaking abilities but this award is duly earned. It's about Hero Patrick Jones...
PRESENTATION AND RECOGNITION OF VISITORS
1. RESOLUTION recognizing MLGW Hero Patrick Jones.
It was a stormy Thursday, September 11, 2014, during a heavy rain, when Meter Reader Patrick Jones was routinely reading his route. While in that neighborhood he noticed a lady trapped in her car by fast moving flood waters.
The water had quickly accumulated inside Patricia Nelms’ vehicle and had risen around her shoulders as she sat stranded in the driver’s seat.
Without hesitation, Patrick rushed into the cold water to set her free her from the flood waters.
The closer Patrick got to her car, he realized she was disabled and unable to walk away, much less wade through the water to safety.
Without hesitation, Patrick carefully placed her on his back and carried her to dry ground, saving her from drowning.
As a sidenote, MLGW is getting rid of all their meter readers for the super duper smart meters that are going to save us soooo much money on our bills(they are not) but hey, pay no attention to that newly installed smoking thing on the side of your house, that's your old electric wiring to blame. Anyways, we applaud Patrick Jones for coming to the aid of Ms. Nelms. Enjoy your meter readers while you can, it seems their dismissal is being expedited through the process of firing because they (meter readers) alledgedly are giving false readings. This just so happens to coincide with electris bills that are rising after smart meters are installed so they need a fall guy. Who you going to believe? MLGW or your soon to be extinct meter reader?
This next one I think has to do with Uber and Lyft...I am going to contact these companies to find out and pay attention to what the council says about this Tuesday...If anyone else knows, please send me an email at [email protected]

Oh look 150,000 for the National Endowment of the Arts...
37. RESOLUTION allocating and appropriating $150,000.00 in grant funds from the
National Endowment for the Arts.
Would that be the same National Endowment fro the Arts that does this? From the Washington Post
"A federal agency is spending hundreds of thousands of dollars every year to support film festivals that showcase movies that some Americans might find offensive. Decapitated heads, public urination and sexual promiscuity are among the subjects explored on the big screen of events underwritten with U.S. taxpayers’ money."
Their budget is over 100,000,000 so what's 150,000 dollars among friends? This is your money taxpayers.TOTAL redistribution of wealth.
The total amount of grant money being allocated Tuesday comes to 2,409,016 dollars. Not much in the grand scheme of things but they get this money from taxpayers. How much money could you give back to the taxpayers if you stopped redistributing their wealth? Twice a month this goes on at the city and this is not even considering the county crack money. It all adds up to a giant sucking sound coming out of your paycheck.
Keeping Up With the Kouncilmen soon to follow...
