To comply with federal rules, the state Board of Education has voted to limit cake walks, bake sales and other school events involving food, the Tennessean reports. But members were apparently not to happy about it.
Under the rule adopted, a school can have food-related events no more than 30 days during a year.
(E)ducation officials bemoaned potential administrative headaches that will result from one of the many guidelines carved out in the federal Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act, which went into effect this week.
