Now I still I still keep speaking because I want to keep the world from changing me. Has the world changed the church? Are we what God wants us to be? Are we living out the gospel message? That is my challenge for today. Until we have learned to live with the coherence and the meaningfulness of the gospel, proclaiming it for both head and heart, and living it out both in our thinking and in our doing, until we have reached that stage, I think we do ourselves a disfavor and the world a disfavor, by looking on the outside and taking them to task. We need to take ourselves to task first.
When Josiah found the Book of the Law in the house of God, it brought about a revival. That's the need of the hour, for the Church to be the Church, and be what it is meant to be. Then, the people will know that they cannot ultimately ignore God and they will listen out of the cogency and the reality of our message. Let us be men and women of prayer, and let us be men and women of consistency, then the world will give us a hearing, as we are the salt and the light, living out the gospel of Jesus Christ.
