A recent Rasmussen Reports poll shows support for Common Core drops as more parents find out about its details.
The poll found that 34 percent of those with school-age children want schools nationwide to meet the Common Core Standards. But that percentage is a drop of 18 percent, from 52 percent, since last November.
The polling agency surveyed 1,000 adults June 21 and 22.
Jane Robbins of the American Principles Project says she's not surprised that support has dropped.
"Parents are starting to understand what Common Core is," she says, crediting parents for reading more about it and for paying attention to what their children are bringing home from school.
