The Shelby County Division of Corrections is looking for new officers and counselors.
From June 9-13, the division will accept applications for both positions. Counselors must have graduated from an accredited college with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, criminal justice or a similar field. Starting salary is $30,270. Corrections officers must have a high school diploma or GED. Starting salary is $15.23 per hour.
Applicants must be at least 21 as well as U.S. citizens or eligible to work in the United States. They must also pass a physical agility test, a written test, psychological and physical exams, as well as drug and tuberculosis tests.
