The City Council meeting is on October 7th, the agenda is not out yet but I will be keeping an eye out for what the city has planned.
The County Commission does not meet until Oct 13th but I'm sure it will be full of entertainment as the possession of Commissioner Steve Basar by ex-Commissioner Mike Ritz continues unabated. What stunts will he pull to try and get himself appointed to chairman of the budget? I don't know, but we have a perfectly qualified woman, Commissioner Heidi Shafer waiting to continue another term as chairman of the budget. As you know, at the last meeting, Basar voted along with Commissioner Walter Bailey and other democrats to deny Chairman Ford his appointments for the different committees. It's all about politics and selfish ambitions but hey, that's politics but they can only get away with it if you let them. It is my hope that commission chambers will be full of citizens watching the shenanigans of typical politicians and perhaps a priest in the audience who can perform an exorcism...it's going to be a long 4 years if the spirit of Mike Ritz sticks around....
