18 September 2014 – The Security Council, in its first emergency meeting on a public health crisis, today declared the Ebola outbreak in West Africa a threat to peace and security, asSecretary-General Ban Ki-moon announced that the United Nations will deploy a new emergency health mission to combat one of most horrific diseases on the planet that has shattered the lives of millions.
“This international mission, to be known as the United Nations Mission for Ebola Emergency Response, or UNMEER (Oh how sweet it is, this "international mission" to save mankind, UNMEER? how can I go back in time and UNHEAR your stupid acronym UNMEER? ), will have five priorities: stopping the outbreak (TOO LATE), treating the infected (GREAT IDEA), ensuring essential services (SURE SOUNDS GREAT TOO), preserving stability (DEFINE STABILITY) and preventing further outbreaks (GOOD LUCK WITH THAT, YOU'RE GOING TO NEED IT),” Mr. Ban told the Security Council.
“Under the leadership of a Special Representative (Some Crony of Mr. Ban who will wear spiffy suits and ties and jet around Africa & the Caribbean if needed looking like a distinguished gentleman and perhaps attend some meetings about saving humanity from themselves and some other stuff you don't need to know about) of the Secretary-General, the Mission will bring together the full range of UN actors (literally, there will be actors, like from Hollywood because the U.N loves them some beautiful people and the beautiful people love them some U.N. which reminds of the the "Messenger of Peace" Leonardo DiStupido, maybe, just maybe if he's not on some movie set he can break away for and earn his newly crowned title...how do they doit? We mere peasants would like to know...)and expertise in support of national efforts (efforts to commission studies and have meetings and stuff and some really expensive social gatherings to boot. Emergency Response can be fun...with enough money),” he said, adding that details (awww details schmetails...who needs them...it's the thought that counts...and lots of money....lots and lots of money) of the mission were sent in a letter to the Security Council and the UN General Assembly.
The Secretary-General said the mission’s effectiveness will depend crucially on support from the international community. (Meaning it will depend on the U.S. contributing the bulk of the money needed, something like a gazillion dollars would be a good place to start...)
“Our best estimate is that we need a 20-fold increase in assistance ( that's just for starters...you capitalist pigs..he didn't say that, but we all know he's thinking it, even though it's the capitalist pigs that allow this organization to pretend to be something it isn't) ,” he said. The United Nations this week outlined a set of critical needs totalling almost $1 billion over the next six months.
I have a hard time taking you guys seriously when Iran sits on the U.N. Human Rights Committee which promotes the welfare of women (hahahahahahaha) sorry, it's hard to write this with a straight face....IRAN promoting the welfare of women? Yeah get back to me after they stop stoning people for adultery, homosexuality and living by the woman-friendly thing called SHARIAH Law!
