The following form letter is from a constituent who had written the Senator about his concerns about Net Neutrality.
Dear John,
Thanks for getting in touch with me and letting me know what’s on your mind (so that I can send you this form letter that will repeat all the constituents points while not saying a whole lot about anything specifically) regarding proposed “net neutrality” rules to regulate the Internet.
There is an ongoing debate about whether additional action is needed to ensure unfettered access to the Internet.(A broad discussion amongst who? Mostly busybodies who can't leave the free market alone to save their lives) Broadband investment and access to the Internet are critical to continuing innovation and to maintaining our nation’s competitive edge. (Wow! That was profound....NOT!!!) Rather than drafting “net neutrality” rules to regulate the Internet, I believe the Federal Communications Commission should focus instead on ways to provide broadband access to all Americans to help create new jobs and spur economic growth. (Great! You "believe" something doesn't really translate into anything real productive now does it? Have you seen what the "Majority" of Republicans have done since they won? Yeah...the Democrats are still running the show so get back to us when your beliefs actually turn into something productive)
On January 14, 2014, the Court of Appeals for District of Columbia struck down key parts of the Federal Communications Commission's Open Internet Order that attempted to establish “net neutrality” regulations. The court concluded that the Order exceeded the Commission’s authority to regulate how broadband internet service providers manage network traffic. (Is it really effective to discuss what the Court of Appeals for District of Columbia did last year? It doesn't matter what they did. Who needs the courts when you can implement regulations through bureaucracies?)
The internet is a valuable resource for our economy and we must be mindful of both intended and unintended consequences when the Federal government writes regulations. (Are you kidding me? You guys aren't mindful of anything except for the latest donations to your campaign and regulations and what your overlords in the Chamber of Commerce expects you to do next in order to get future donations. Mindful of what exactly? Regulating the free market away...regardless of the unintended consequences.) This is a very important and difficult issue and I appreciate your input to help me have a more informed view on this topic. (Hahahaha Lamar told a funny! He "appreciates your input"! He appreciates your input about as much as Jeb Bush appreciates the Tea Party. Oh and this is "a very important and difficult issue??? It's so important that you and your lackadaisical party will write form letters to fight back! Woohoo! Keep up the good work. At this rate, maybe you and the stupid party will take back the presidency oh ...I dunno....NEVER!)
I’m grateful that you took the time to get in touch with me. (Yeah, now move along hillbilly...I'm having dinner at "The Club"...don't worry yourself about it, you aren't invited. You will never be invited. Oh the sacrifices we elected officials make for you rubes...you can't possibly understand) Your comments are important to me and I’ll be sure to keep them in mind as this is discussed and debated in Washington and Tennessee. (Uhuh, discussed and debated? The FCC just took over the internet...what's to discuss?)
Sincerely, (lacking integrity and determination)
Lamar
Thanks Lamar for that form letter of fodder for this blog. Is it possible that your kind could communicate without spouting off a bunch of poll tested talking points that ultimately amounts to nothing? I'm sure that's a resounding no but a girl can dream right?
