The Karnes County Civil Detention Centerhas 532 beds and is now ready to take woman and their children from Central America who are flooding the border, officials with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said.
The $32 million facility was built as part of an agreement between U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Florida-based The GEO Group, which already runs a jail here.
