CLEVELAND, Tenn. (FOX13) -A Tennessee man is lucky to be alive as the car he was driving was sliced in half after it slid underneath an 18-wheeler in Cleveland.
The incident took place Wednesday morning as Brandon Evans was driving to work. He said he tried to slam on the brakes to avoid hitting the 18-wheeler and saved his life by ducking down as far as he could as the car slid underneath the tractor trailer.
"I seen the truck pull out in front of me and I was going to go around the front of him and there wasn't no room," Evans said. "I couldn't go around the rear either so I hit it right in the center. There wasn't nothing I could do except get down real low."
"It's dumbfounding if you look at the vehicle," added Evie West of the Cleveland Police Dept.
Miraculously Evans only suffered a few cuts and scrapes in the collision and was able to get uoutthe driver's side window.
