I was with you in Dallas in 2012 for Restoring Love. It too was very motivating and I credit you for keeping the troops motivated. With the lamest conservative representation in our country's history, motivation was hard to come by.
I watched your stand for Israel, Restoring Courage, though I couldn't be there.
A funny thing courage...the ability to do something that frightens one. Don't confuse courage with virtue signaling.
Cowtowing to racist social justice warriors does not take courage. It takes weakness, just going with the herd. I somehow doubt George Washington would have given Black Lives Matter the time of day, much less wrote an an editorial "empathizing" with the Loyalists. But then again, George was a strong man, something our country seems to be in dire need of. Men, not virtue signalers.
I think Washington would probably have agreed with this ancient phrase that Ronald Reagan used and believed in ..."Peace Through Strength"
I was going to deconstruct the dribble you wrote for the New York Times but quickly lost motivation to do so. This paragraph pretty much sums up your weakness...
I consider myself a “classical liberal” — a.k.a. “constitutional conservative” — and I believe the greatness of our country lies in our founders’ creation of a system that allows and encourages all voices to be heard. The only way for our society to work is for each of us to respect the views of others, and even try to understand and empathize with one another. I have always tried to work toward this goal, even though I have often been guilty of conflating the individual with the whole.
You may consider yourself a "Constitutional Conservative" but that constitution is not going to defend itself.
All that is wrong in this country can be summed up in that one paragraph. No need to click on the narrative news site called the New York Times. The "greatness of our country lies in our founders' creation of a system that allows and encourages all voices to be heard." NO SIR! The greatness of our country lies in the strength of the women and men willing to defend and enforce that system our founders created!
"The only way for our society to work is for each of us to respect the views of others, and even try to understand and empathize with one another." Glenn, do you think the generals in the American Revolution sought to empathize with the Loyalists? The King? The Tea Act which was nothing more than a bailout of the British East India Company Monopoly?
No, they didn't seek to understand the feelings of those who would oppress them. They didn't believe that encouraging the voice of the King to be heard would lead to our greatness. They didn't believe that we should try and understand the Loyalists need to be subjects of the King would lead to our greatness. They believed that defeating the King and his Loyalists was the only option and would lead to our greatness. You know, Live Free or Die?
Lest you think I am inciting revolution, let me clarify....
We already have the founders system that they had to fight and die for.
Progressives are a bunch of sissies so, no need for revolution, simply push back and just say no. No virtue signaling, just push back and over and over and over just say NO! It really is that simple.
You want to understand Black Lives Matter? Well it's spelled out in their name ...BLACK LIVES MATTER.
George Soros. That is all you need to know about BLM. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy. That is Black Lives Matter so while you are trying to understand them, I'm going to take a pass and not cast my pearls before swine. (Matthew 7:6 Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.)
I had a gut feeling something was not right with you when you did Andrew Breitbart wrong regarding the Shirley Sherrod fiasco. I knew something wasn't right, but I tolerated it because I thought you were doing so much good and hoped it was all some big misunderstanding. I should have listened to my gut. Where was your seeking understanding from Andrew Breitbart when you threw him under the bus to build yourself up?
In your social justice fit of insanity you say this..."I am not looking to condemn, I am looking to understand."
Well I think a large number of people aren't here to condemn, either. Reminiscent of the Battle of Jericho in which Joshua asked someone outside the wall who had a sword raised whose side he was on and his response "I am not here to choose sides...I'm here to take over." Left, right, or indifferent ...
We too are here to take over.
While you betas discuss your empathy for evil, the adults in the room are going to condemn that evil and then we are going to take over. I wouldn't refer to this as a revolution, but an evolution. If you can't call a spade a spade, how are you going to defend the constitution?
P.S. Donald Trump is not the evil that Hillary Clinton is. No amount of pleading on your part will lead us to believe that. There are no mysterious deaths related to Trump when people start asking the wrong questions about him. He's a fallen man, just like you are. Too bad you can't empathize with him like you can with the racists that are Black Lives Matter. He wrote The Art of the Deal, not Mein Kampf. Your total obsession with Donald Trump and how bad would he be for this country is stunning. As a Christian, where's your loving acceptance and understanding of things not perfect, like Black Lives Matter?
