During the County Commission meeting Monday, Bailey said he had “policy concerns” about chairman Justin Ford’s appointments. (Allow me to translate: Bailey was one vote short at the last meeting to winning the chairmanship when Ford broke the tie with his vote for himself giving Ford the chairmanship so Bailey got butt-hurt and took his revenge today by referring this item back to committee to try and overturn some of Ford's appointments....may the force be with Chairman Ford)
Earlier this month Bailey, who at 74 has served 39 years on the commission, lost the battle for the chairman’s seat to Ford, 29, in a 7-5 vote. (39 YEARS !!!! ENOUGH ALREADY!!!)
Voting with Bailey to refer the two appointment resolutions back to the general government committee were Democrats Willie Brooks, Melvin Burgess, Eddie Jones, Reginald Milton and Van Turner.
They were joined by Republican Steve Basar, who said he was “honoring the wishes of some of my fellow commissioners.” (Translation: Steve got butt-hurt too at the last meeting because he found out he didn't have support from either party for the chairmanship and so like Bailey, he took his revenge by kicking this back to committee where he will try to get himself appointed to the budget chair. He doesn't attempt that...then I will retract)
