MEMPHIS, TN (localmemphis.com) - The City of Memphis is reconsidering a controversial policy banning photos of animals being held at the shelter.
The Memphis Animal Shelter stopped allowing rescue groups to take the photos earlier this month.
Animal advocates said the move has made it harder for people to find their lost pets and will result in more animals being euthanized.
Over the weekend, animal advocates held the protest. They are upset with the recent change in procedure that stopped rescue groups from making pictures of animals to help promote adopting the animals via Facebook and helping reunite pets with their owners.
This is what happens when the public gets involved with an issue. The people have more power than they know. Now if we could get people to get involved with the just as irrational human policies, we might be getting somewhere....
