The Blaze.com reports some new information I had not heard...
The witness says the mob of young teens viciously ran through the Poplar Plaza parking lot assaulting complete strangers.
It was maybe about 100 to 125 kids. It was a lot of kids,” said the witness.
“Is that an exaggeration?” asked WREG’s Elise Preston.
“No, it`s not an exaggeration,” replied the witness.
There were so many kids, the security guards couldn’t control the violent crowd.
“They were playing a game called ‘point them out, knock them out.’ Where they would point someone out and attempt to knock them out or fight them. There was no real reason behind it.”

So, News channel 13 had the lamest news coverage of all earlier with just a brief description and no pictures or video, well they have updated their story here ...http://bit.ly/1pEc9ns
Something I take issue with is this...
Officers checked for video footage with the Kroger manager, but was advised only loss prevention can pull the video during the weekdays between 8 am and 5 pm. (REALLY??? You couldn't pull the tapes to more clearly capture the roving band of thugs who had just assaulted a customer and some of your employees??? Teenagers no less??? Only loss prevention??? What kind of loss prevention? What about loss of life??? Loss of safety and security for your customers? Is that a Kroger rule and if so, don't you think you could bend the rules to benefit your employees and customers???)
End of update...

MEMPHIS, TN -(WMC) - A video of a group of teenagers beating a Kroger employee in the store's parking lot is circulating on Facebook.
A Kroger employee tells WMC Action News 5 that the attack happened at the Kroger near Highland Street and Poplar Avenue.
Accroding to police, three people were jumped by a large group of teenagers who were chanting "fam mob." The group, who came from CiCi's Pizza, reportedly attacked a 25-year-old customer as he left his car to enter Kroger. Two employees, ages 17 and 18, were attacked while trying to stop the fight. Both were "struck several times in the head and face, while being knocked to the ground." The victims say large pumpkins were thrown at their heads. They both eventually were knocked unconscious.

I sent this blog post out in an email and received the following back from a friend who aptly describes everything that happened much more in depth than the lame media coverage. It's a sad day when I can get more news from a friend on email than a corporation whose main job is covering the news...not to worry 3, 5, and 13...we got your back!
My jaw dropped at the footage of the "incident" and then even more so, at the incompetent news stories written about it.
First, that isn't a "group" of teenagers...it was a full out mob of at least fifty people who looked at least 18yrs old.
Secondly, the girl who recorded the footage just stood there saying things like "kids these days" and "oh they fixin to scrap....damn they got a white dude"! Really?!? That was all she had to say? Then, the security guard (yes, that was singular) goes inside to give his phone to the girl already recording the mob and tells her to record this....WHILE PEOPLE ARE GETTING JUMPED!!!
And finally, the news story says that they have made no identifications of these individuals who came from CiCi's pizza. Does anyone else realize that a group that large at a restaurant would be an organized group...Thus, CiCis pizza would have some idea of who they were? And that the boys on the video yelled "East High" and what sounded like "57" which leads me to believe they went to East High School and his football number is probably number 57. Just a wild guess there. And once you locate that guy and apply pressure, he will roll on his friends in a heartbeat. Where is good old fashioned police work?!?!
Now, all this comes a day after a news announcement from Mother's Against Open Carry stating that one cannot open carry in Kroger. I also believe that Kroger issued a no firearms whatsoever statement as well, but have not fact checked that. So...this video is proof that one not only should be allowed to carry firearms in Kroger in Memphis but NEEDS TO!!!
I'm still horrified at the fact that the girl just stood there laughing about kids these days and how they got a white dude!!! I'm offended, angry, and am glad I wasn't there because I would not have been able to get myself from telling her what I think of her statements and actions.
Has it really come to this? Where people think stuff like this is just something kids do these days and it's funny?
What if it were a large group of white teenagers jumping three black men and a white girl recorded it saying "ooh they got a black dude"? I think that would make people stand up and notice that something is wrong...how come this doesnt????
Well, said friend....well said
